Applying from Canada
This is the most common scenario — you're already in Canada and need to get your Police Clearance Certificate from the UAE remotely. You'll apply through the UAE embassy, consulate, or an authorized service provider.
How to apply
If you no longer have an active Emirates ID: (1) Get 10-finger fingerprints on FD-258 card at a Canadian fingerprinting service (notarized). (2) Have fingerprints authenticated by Global Affairs Canada. (3) Get UAE Embassy in Ottawa to legalize the document. (4) Mail attested package to UAE Ministry of Interior. If you still have Emirates ID access, try the online MOI portal first.

Tips for applying from Canada
- CRITICAL: Only 30-day validity — time your application so the certificate doesn't expire before IRCC submission.
- Cannot apply online from Canada without active Emirates ID.
- Authentication chain: Canadian notary → Global Affairs Canada → UAE Embassy Ottawa → mail to MOI.
- Request English version explicitly — default may be Arabic.
- If you left on final exit visa, certificate may be harder to obtain — contact UAE Embassy first.
