Manitoba issued 2,146 provincial nomination invitations on July 16, 2026 — its largest round since September 2025. Here's who got picked and what it means for your EOI score.
On July 16, 2026, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 2,146 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) — its largest single selection round since September 2025, according to CIC News. If your MPNP Expression of Interest (EOI) profile has been sitting untouched for months, this is the round that actually moved the needle.
This was the MPNP's 14th selection round of 2026, spread across three streams: Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Stream (in-province and overseas), and the International Education Stream. Nearly all of it — 92.4% — went to one group: candidates selected under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway.

Of everyone invited, 825 candidates also held a valid Express Entry profile — meaning a Manitoba nomination hands them the +600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points that all but guarantee an Express Entry Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next federal draw.
The dominant group — 1,874 of the 2,146 invitations, or 94.6% of the entire Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway — went to candidates who indicated in their EOI that they (or their spouse) graduated from a Manitoba post-secondary institution, and who scored 825 or higher on their EOI profile. If you studied in Manitoba and have been building your EOI score, this is the bar you're clearing against.
Two smaller categories ran alongside it without a published cutoff:
- Francophone selection (84 invitations): candidates who set French as their language of communication with the MPNP and hold valid French test results.
- Occupation-specific selection (24 invitations): candidates working in one of three regulated medical NOCs — general practitioners and family physicians (31102), specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine (31100), and specialists in surgery (31101) — who must already be fully licensed to practice in Manitoba.
The Skilled Worker Stream portion (86 invitations) only reached candidates who declared an invitation through a recruitment mission or the now-expired Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Candidates (TPP). The Ethnocultural Communities initiative made up the largest share of these at 37.2%.
The International Education Stream's Graduate Internship pathway (78 invitations) is narrower still. To apply for nomination after being selected, candidates need to show a completed master's or doctoral degree earned in Manitoba within the last three years, a completed Mitacs Elevate or Accelerate internship with an eligible Manitoba employer, and language ability at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) 7 or higher.
The MPNP flagged two common reasons a candidate who appeared to meet the criteria still didn't receive an LAA: an approved language test was listed but its ID number was missing, invalid, or expired by draw day, or a candidate claimed a recruitment-initiative invitation without including a valid invitation number. If your EOI profile hasn't updated in a while, check both fields before the next round.

If you graduated in Manitoba and your EOI score is under 825, the fastest lever isn't waiting — it's re-checking whether every document reference (language test ID, transcript, invitation number) is current in your profile. The MPNP explicitly says incomplete data fields cost otherwise-eligible candidates a spot, and fixing them costs you nothing.
If you graduated from a Manitoba institution and hold an EOI score of 825+: you were very likely in this round or close to the next one. Manitoba runs the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway on a rolling schedule, so keep your profile current rather than resubmitting.
If you're below 825: this is Manitoba's largest round since September 2025, which means it also emptied the top of the pool. Scores in upcoming rounds may ease slightly — but that's a pattern from past draws, not a promise about what the MPNP will do next.
