On July 30, 2026, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 766 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in Expression of Interest (EOI) draw #276 — and nearly 80% of them went to one specific group: candidates already working in Manitoba in a manufacturing or utilities job.
This was Manitoba's 15th selection round of 2026, split across two streams:

The dominant category — 605 of the 766 invitations, or 79% — went to candidates employed in Manitoba under what the province calls Broad Occupational Category 9: middle management, supervisory, and production roles across manufacturing, processing, and utilities. That includes machine operators, assemblers, processing labourers, and utilities operators and controllers, among others. The cutoff for this group was 632 points on the candidate's EOI profile.
A much smaller group — 74 candidates — was invited for working in one of seven specific occupations the province flagged directly, including aerospace engineers, aircraft mechanics and assemblers, air pilots and flight instructors, and facility operation managers. No cutoff score applied to this targeted list; if you were in one of those seven occupations, in-demand skills mattered more than a ranking.
Of everyone invited, 94 candidates also held a valid Express Entry profile with a job seeker validation code — meaning a Manitoba nomination hands them the +600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points needed to make an Express Entry Invitation to Apply (ITA) close to automatic in the next federal draw.

The July 16 round was the province's biggest since September 2025, dominated by Manitoba post-secondary graduates. This round is a different shape entirely — smaller, and built almost entirely around candidates already employed in a specific sector rather than recent graduates. As of July 30, Manitoba has run 15 selection rounds in 2026 and issued 4,822 invitations in total.
The MPNP flagged two recurring reasons a candidate who appeared to qualify still didn't receive an LAA: the ID number for an approved language test was missing or invalid, or their results had expired by the draw date; or a candidate claimed a strategic recruitment initiative invitation without including a valid invitation number. Both are fixable before the next round — check your profile now rather than after you're skipped again.
